I took this photo in the eastern Sierras, off Highway 395, at the Owens Gorge Road. I love those mailboxes and every time we travel to the Sierras, we drive by them just to see them!

Fire in the desert







As I was driving down the mountain road Saturday, I saw a plume of smoke drifting across the desert valley floor. I stopped and took these photos. It was a fire at a green waste plant in Mecca, CA.

That's pretty amazing. You could have said it was smoke from a train and I could have seen that too. :-)
