One morning hubby and I took this road to get a view of the falls. Clouds were developing over the mountains near Yosemite and continued to grow during the day. We didn't get any rain, but they added a nice contrast to the beautiful scenery. SkyWatch Friday for July 31, 2009.

At the end of the day we arrived in Yosemite, we FINALLY made it from the eastern entrance to Merced. While driving down the hill from the park, we could see a gorgeous sunset beginning to take place. Several other cars had pulled over at a turnout and people there were also taking photos of the sunset. Isn't it pretty? SkyWatch Friday for July 24, 2009. Sorry about the utility lines! I don't usually take photos with them showing, but there just wasn't an opportunity to get around them. We were on a turnout with a fairly steep drop-off!

When we arrived in Yosemite National Park this past June, there were many waterfalls. We had never seen this many before! The park had just had a snow storm two weeks prior to our visit and there was plenty of snow still on the peaks. We enjoyed seeing the many waterfalls that the park had to offer. On the road just west of Olmstead Point, in Yosemite National Park, we came upon this beautifully calm lake and stopped to take photos. Isn't the reflection clear? I am slowly coming back to the world after the shock of my mare's accidental death. While I miss Beauty tremendously, life must go on. I made a little memorial outside her corral. I miss her morning whinny when she saw me drive into the ranch.
