Header photo

I took this photo in the eastern Sierras, off Highway 395, at the Owens Gorge Road. I love those mailboxes and every time we travel to the Sierras, we drive by them just to see them!

Watery Wednesday 021010

I went out early Sunday morning, after our weekend rain storm, and drove out to the Desert Springs Marriott here in Palm Desert. They had just planted these flowers among the waterfalls. We had more rain yesterday and snow is forecast down to 3,000 feet in our local mountains today. Watery Wednesday for February 10, 2010.

I've always carried with me the image of the Imperial Valley and the Desert areas with golf courses, swimming pools and other watery delights - of what they will revert to when there's no more water for them.

SoCal without water is a scary picture.

btw- I just found your blog and I've enjoyed your photos.

Planting flowers sounds so foreign right now. I wish it were true here!

Oh, how beautiful is that? Just lovely landscaping. You know how sometimes you take a picture of something beautiful, then look at the picture and think it didn't do the scene justice? Well, that certainly isn't the case here. It's almost like being there. ~karen
