I took this photo in the eastern Sierras, off Highway 395, at the Owens Gorge Road. I love those mailboxes and every time we travel to the Sierras, we drive by them just to see them!

Weekend Reflections 010111~Sierras

Hubby and I drove up to South Lake near Bishop, CA this week. We love to drive through the houses on Starlight Road. After a recent snow storm, they were covered with snow. I stopped by this one house to take a photo of their broad windows. And, what were they reflecting? THIS mountain! Neat, huh? Weekend Reflections for January 1, 2011. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Just beautiful! I thought of driving on to Tahoe after my Christmas visit at my son's in West Sacramento - for a brief glimpse of the snow...but thought better of it when torrential rains started! It was hard enough getting back to San Francisco!

My poem for the New Year is at:

This house as a lot of windows! So fitting with snow -the mountains are always beautiful when covered with the powdery stuff:) Happy New Year to you!
