I took this photo in the eastern Sierras, off Highway 395, at the Owens Gorge Road. I love those mailboxes and every time we travel to the Sierras, we drive by them just to see them!

Markleyville and south of Lake Tahoe~That's My World 081109

While visiting Lake Tahoe, one day hubby and I drove to Markleyville, a small town south of Lake Tahoe, and up the road in the nearby mountains. The views were spectacular, with snow still on the mountains. I wish this was my world, but, alas, I live in the desert, which is a world of its own. But, it's nice to get out into the trees and mountains for a vacation! That's My World for August 11, 2009.

Beautiful! I live in a desert, too, and my vacation just included some trees and mountains. I've never been to Tahoe. I would love to go there one of our trips.

Snow in mountains in Summer is amazing. I've seen that for the first time this year.

Good for you, when the longing for greenery and especially water hits us in our dry, hot and dusty late sommer, we drive 2,000km to where we can sppend time on a magical riverbank with mountain scenery and autumn leaves.

We all need green in our lives, at present my world is just that, feel free to visit!
