Travels in my state, California, from a native Californian.

I took this photo in the eastern Sierras, off Highway 395, at the Owens Gorge Road. I love those mailboxes and every time we travel to the Sierras, we drive by them just to see them!

Cloud "explosion" over the Sierras~Sunday Stills 081509
During our last trip to the Sierras, we both stopped and took photos of this incredible cloud formation. I think it looks like a "cloud explosion". What do you think? This was June of this year. Sunday Stills Challenge for August 16, 2009.
Volcanic rather with the mountain beneath it! Great capture. It's amazing what you can see in the clouds if you don't live in a hole like I do where you can only see the clouds just above your head. (So I'm really enjoying SS this week :D )
Yes, any photo is available for purchase! I can print them on 4x6 or 8x10 photo paper. Just send me an email! deserthorses5@gmail.com

I've loved horses all my life but didn't get my first one until our kids left us with an empty nest! Now hubby and I have 4 horses, 1 dog, 3 cats, and 4 adorable grandchildren. Oh, and two wonderful, grown children! Hubby and I enjoy taking care of our rescue horses and traveling and taking photos.

That head, Bridgeport looking south?
What a neat shot!
Or a big splash!
Agreed! Or an avalanche breaking out over the top of the mountain.

Love it. Just beautiful...
It does look like an explosion. Kind of like the mountains are erupting.
Looks like a huge splash of water. Or a cloud of dust. Stunning! Good capture!
