I took this photo in the eastern Sierras, off Highway 395, at the Owens Gorge Road. I love those mailboxes and every time we travel to the Sierras, we drive by them just to see them!

Watery Wednesday for November 19, 2008

Even the desert has ponds, usually called an oasis. This pond is at the Living Desert Reserve in Palm Desert, CA. I used to love to go there and just sit and smell their pond (and watch the ducks)! It was very relaxing.

That's a pretty nice pond for a desert! Looks like an oasis for sure where I would want to be.

Wow, what a great shot. The water looks so blue and the reflection is wonderful! Sorry it took so long to respond but I was having problems seeing the names on the list. It's fixed now! Thanks for participating. :-)

Hi,
I'm catching up on some Watery Wednesday posts.
This is a wonderful image!
I wonder what critters may be lurking in those grasses.

Isn't a place like that called an oasis. When I lived in Arizona, you'd find riparian corridors in the center of a large desert basin.
