I took this photo in the eastern Sierras, off Highway 395, at the Owens Gorge Road. I love those mailboxes and every time we travel to the Sierras, we drive by them just to see them!

Apple trees~That's My World 092909

There is an apple farm right next to the horse ranch and I have watched the apples ripen. The rancher was out this weekend with his boxes, busily picking them. I stopped to chat with him. He doesn't use any chemicals and sells to organic markets in Julian and Indio. I'll have to get down to Indio and check out his apples! He told me they are $20 a box and I'd like to buy one for the kiddos at school and let them have a healthy snack! That's My World for September 29, 2009.

Good idea. Listening this A.M. to MSNBC do a spot on overweight kids. Apples don't make you fat.

The trees are green but the ground sure looks dry. Have a great day

Fresh apples straight from the trees! What a privilege and what a lovely world to live in. I have to buy my apples from the supermarket shelves!

Did you buy apples for the kiddos and the horses? I always thought horses liked apples? Thanks for sharing.

No...not from this guy. He wouldn't sell me a box! He really isn't that friendly.
