We passed by this lone oak tree this morning leaving Merced for northern California. I liked how it stood alone in a field of golden grasses. We've had a high pressure system over California now for several days without any clouds and none are forecast for some time. Maybe during our monsoon months of July and August they will return, although one August, when we came through this same area, lightning from the storms caused several wildfires! Still surviving!

We are still alive and well (mostly)...We both are noticing that we just
don't have the energy we used to have and we do get tired easily most days,
but...

Lovely picture. Great one for summer.
That is a beautifully shaped tree! I sure hope the fires are few this year.
Great composition! I like the lone oak standing strong amidst the brown grasses with the pale blue sky above.
Beautiful tree and very nice composition!
I love lonesome trees such as this.
blue, green and gold! love the composition of this photo! :)
At first I thought the oak tree was in the desert! That grass is sandy-colored, for sure! Have a great Holiday Weekend!
I think only Californians call the grasses "golden"... most folks I know call them dried up and brown :) Nice piccie.
